    96 disco door locking

    hey when you lock the car with the key in the is it meant to be reallly hard to turn.

    would it be worth getting a remote ? how do i know if mine was meant to have one

    Mine was.

    Door trim off.

    WD40 on everything that moves ( not window bits)

    Door trim back on.

    200% better

    Mine is hard to turn to lock with the key. I got the remotes from ebay from the UK. $78 or so posted. Make sure you get the right remote to suit Australian cars. The Part number is YWX101210 and the correct frequency for our cars is 315 MHz. They are a Lucas brand remote type 17TN KEY. These are $192.00 each at Melbourne Land Rover. Many on eBay look similar but are 415MHz and will not work. The replacement remotes can only be reset by computer at a Dealer or someone with the Testbook program. The dealer charges around $50.00 to do it. The routine of locking, unlocking, ignition on-off etc.. does not work with two button remotes only the one button type. The Land Rover bloke in Geelong road Brooklyn did mine in exchange for a spare remote I had.
