Played with the switch on the thermostat housing, and nothing happened??
Then i wired the fans directly to the battery and they are running full blast. I've had the car iddling for the past 15 to 20 minutes with the aircond at full blast the radiator cap off and so far so good.

The question is now, why aren't the fans kicking in?

The carpet under the dash is dry although i must say the air is not as cold as it normally is.

Water pump seems ok too as the water has flow in the radiator.

Temp gauge so far in the past 20 minutes is sitting just under 1/2.

I'll leave it iddleing for another 10 to 15 mins and then i will focus on finding out why the fans are not cutting in, replace the thermostat and pray

After 30+ minutes running, everything seemed ok.

I just now need to see how I can test the fan circuit to see why it is not working.

The positive is that from my primitive understanding on things, I think there is no damage to the engine and if i can get the fans sorted... well, my wife now understands that it would be a good time to trade the car in for a nice reliable Landrover TD5

    hes not in major trouble...

Engine is ok cooling system and head wise just the thermo fan circut is US...

After looking at it Ive decided to add voyagers to my list of cars Im never touching once Im done with this one...

an external control circut will be added as its too bloody hard, time consuming and likely expensive to replace the sensor in it....
