if the thing was sitting around too long with a bit of fuel in the tank.......
the fuel will evaporate eventually and leave the oil only.....which dries out similar to a plastic coating....
this may have blocked something in the carby.....or even the fuel pickup.......
if you remove the fuel line from the carby......does the fuel flow out freely from the tank........
also......are you running the correct fuel mix......ie 25:1 or 50:1......?
The oil doesn't even have to dry out - the passages in the carburetter are so small on these little engines that just the oil will block them. You'd think the fresh fuel mix would dissolve it, and it probably will, eventually, but it will take a lot longer than you want to wait - by which time the fresh fuel is likely to have evaporated! From experience I have adopted the practice of always running the whippersnipper dry before putting it away!
(I know I am going to have trouble though - its over a year since I have needed to use it!)
