    Body Lifts on Defenders

I got asked the other day if I had lifted the body on the Fender. I said no and was unaware one exsited.
Now who has done a body lift on a Fender and where you get the kit from.
Reason being I want to go to 35"s in Tyre size.
    Anyone done it?

I've seen on on a fender, and have just finished one on my Disco. I made the kit myself, brought the sold 50mm urathane from CBC, cut them to required length drilled hole's went to ruds and brought the correct length H/T bolts, nylocs and washers. it take a few hours but is fairly straight forward.
How high do you want to go ? 40mm is about the Max before having to make other major Modifactions like Bull bar adaptor, , brake lines, fuel lines and gear stick / auto operation ohhhhhh and steering links etc !

    Cheers

you can fit 35's with a 2 inch spring lift...with wheel backspace alterations. you will lose some of the awe inspiringly small defender turning circle due to stop adjustments, but that's about it in a nutshell.

you dont need a bl if you have the right offset rims. I doubt anyone has ever built and sold a defender body lift as a kit. I have only ever seen one in my life, that was a very well built 130, which has been at the landrover show at penrith for atleast the last 2 years. I had a squiz underneath and took some snaps of the body mounts. I wont show the photos of the car/numberplate as i dont know if it has been rta approved.

    Hey Jezzaol

at 40mm did you have to change or lengthen anything or was it a straight forward lift up and put the spacers under it? Very interested as that is what I intend to do but would be nice to here from someone who has already done it

    Cheers

I have seen body lift kits for fenders advertised a couple of years ago - I think it was a west Aus company, but no idea of name etc.

spring lift + adjusted wheel offset = fast and cheap and you can fit larger than legal tyres without further work...

so why would you want to lift the body?

I remember Micka was running 37's with no BL.

The forest rover ran 52" wheels with no BL

Best to keep CofG as low as possible IMO.
