    TC boxes & ratios?

If I wanted a higher ratio for my Defender, is a D1 box a straight swap?

If not, how many internal bits need to be changed if I had mine rebuilt, and wanted the gearing changed at the same time?

did it to mine a couple months back... straight swap and brilliant on the highway.

Only thing that needs swapping is the speedo sensor

That's in the TC and not the gearbox? Or did you just mean change it to suit the final drive ratio?

Thanks for the info. Will try and track one down...

    Ah, you live and learn!

Mine needs changing anyway, as the speedo flickers at certain speeds, and I've done the cable so the gear drive is next on the list before the speedo itself. Might as well wait now and use the new one.

With hindsight, I should have looked at that when I put new 265/75R16 MTR's on a short while ago. Oh well...
