Check your windscreen rubber, it is quite often the cause in defenders.
    Cheers,

Its a special feature the Series Landys had,so special they continued it as a no cost option in the Defender
The easy fix is a hole and plug to let it out

Do a search on this forum - the subject has been covered in detail before.

There are a number of likely places for leaks, but my experience is that the most water comes in through the bolts on the hinges or brackets at the bottom of the windscreen. Other likely places are the door seals, and the windscreen rubber and possibly the seal at the top of the windscreen, particularly in the corners, if it is coming in while parked. If it is coming in while driving, further likely places are the vent rubbers and the seals round the pedal boxes. In either case, holes rusted in the bulkhead can also cause leaks. It is often difficult to see where it is coming in, but a high presure hose can often help locate it.

    Hope this helps.

    Don't we all like a comedian .

This is a common problem and I have not seen a long term fix.

You've heard of air conditioning .... fenders have water conditioning .

Exact same problem on mine, and I couldn't find it...but got in the other day, and noticed a drip from the headlining, so it looks like a leaking gutter....

Windscreen rubber and vents are two other areas to check.

yes......from all the body flexing off road......the roof joint opens up and fills the gutters.......

take a look at the joint in the roof from the outside.....you will find the paint has cracked as well as the sealant........

    and the windscreens leak........

also......make sure the airvents are closed nice and tight.......like pull on the lever nice and hard then lock it into place under tension......

by the time you find the leak.......we will be in a drought again.......so i would stop worrying about it......
its a defender thing.......when it rains......you need to wear your drizabone..........

Just don't fix the door seals until you've fixed the leak...

BTW - The only proper cure for the leaking is to get the new 2007 MY Defender.

Do you have the file: WaterIngressManual.pdf for the Defender?

If not, I can post it to a website later today or you can Google it

as others have said, gutters and windscreen hinge bolts.
i sealed up my gutters with sickaflex and the hinge bolts also, thats was 6months ago. now the only way water gets into the car is from the pressure cleaner at work

oh and for a while i thought that the leak was at the front of the car, nope, it was getting in at the rear and running down the inside of the roof and down the A pillar.

    cheers phil
