Hmm.....should ask how much or just assume the worst?

Seriously though, I don't doubt there are better engines...but I'm not sure anything else could be put in for the cost of a Rover V8, so we're back to the cost vs performance thing again.

    Dude why would you?

I have many a Landy Fantasy as we all do but
Wouldn't you be better getting an old County, and either bolting something big bore straight in or building something up then playing with the bodywork?

These guys did the Diesel to V8 conversion
http://www.devon4x4.com/gallery/phot...back_build_5/5 but I'd be more interested in the bodywork design!

If it's just a playthign then all the PIA of totally stripping out your diesel, getting new exhausts, radiators, firewalls transmsions etc and then trying to get it registered.... AND good luck with the resale....

For 6-8 grand you could get the existing engine stroked, fuel injected, LPgas injected and have a weapon that's reliable and original. Bolt an R380 on the end, get creative with the roof off, and some well positioned roll bars, and it's out of the shed LONG before you have found an exhaust shop that will do all the bending, a radiator that you know will keep the thing cool and an RTA dude that wont start laughing when it lumbers into the checking station.

Use the diesel Defer to do all the running about cos you'll need it then sell it stock standard at the end and make a profit.

Then get your callendar out, and tick the number of days you will be using it cos you might be better calling your stock broker.... You know, assets and liabilities.... pick one!
