    Series 3 Carby

    Hiya

Does anyone know what sort of carby was standard on series 3, 2.25L petrol manufactured on 2/75? My S3 was bought with some sort of non-original Stromberg probably from a holden that never worked very well (according to a mechanic it is too big for the motor) in which i want to replace with the original one. Any Ideas on what type of carby it should be and where i could obtain would be appreciated!

WEBER 34ICH or for earlier vehicles the Zenith but the Webber is still in production and easily available.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

My 78 SIII had a Zenith carb, ditched it for a Stromberg off a 202" (?) holden, they are shorter than the earlier models and fit under the bonnet with the original air filter pipe and fittings and base plate spacers, will post some pics if I can find them, also fitted an earlier (L/R) distributor that had vacuum advance, instead of the later models which had a vacuum Retard, went 100% better

Gday, 2 months ago now i brought a Zenith copy from http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/ , got in about 7 days for $186 aussie dollars delivered. Fitted it and runs great, i changed the arm from the throttle linkage to the choke for the one from the original carby because it had a flimsy clip arrangment on it.
