Ah, yes, the inbuilt central heating system of Thornycrofts. My uncles' got so hot in summer in Winton that we used to carry blocks of wood to prop the doors open, wound the windshield out in spite of the dust, & windows down. The floor panels and engine cover & pedals used to get so hot, you could not put light footwear on them after 20-30 miles. Heavy sole boots were the go. What was its top speed? 25-35 mph? God, they were crap trucks.
