    D110 - Dual Battery install

I have recently installed - not yet connected as I need a good earth strap to connect the 2 batteries.

My -ve lead came through the side of the seatbox which was a bit tight on the battery,

so I moved it to enter the seatbox from the rear

    Installed the dual battery controller

Temporary batteries - will be installing Red and Yellow Optimas in the opposite directions

Any questions about the install just ask!!!

I used red tape - as it make the electricity go fast through the wires to the fridge

The original battery is secured using the LR bracket and I am going to put a piece of wood behind the aux battery to lock it up (there is no sideways movement)

while we are talking brackets, anyone know of someone making battery trays to hold 2 Optima batteries in the East / West style?

    Hi LRHybrid100,
I suspect that, if you don't tie that second battery down, it will shake itself to death.

Just watch going over a bump that it doesn't jump up and arc out on the battery cover/lid...or do the covers have insulation on the underneath side

I have a thick rubber mat over the top of both batteries also.

See my reply in the other thread. Can't remember if the Optimas have mounting holes through them like the Exides do, but the Scorpion Racing tray does a very neat job if they do.

Shows tray with single battery in and clamps for second battery

    Both batteries installed

I just filled the well in the bottom of the box with a pice of compressed fibro then used the original battery securing bracket.

They've been like that for the last 5 years, I also rivetted a piece of thick conveyor rubber to the underside of the box cover, I felt it was a bit close to the rear pos. terminal.
