What was the problem, if the TC input shaft and gear were ok, what was the cause of the demise of your box, Regards Frank.

Apologies for not replying sooner... ahem. I have no recollection of what the actual problem was. I died in 2009 for 15 minutes and memories are still coming back years later. I do remember the following year the gearbox gave me grief once more, taking forever to change up when first started but ok once warm. It got to the point where I decided not to spend another 3 grand with the lads at KLR and sell the car. On the day I went to pick up the Mazda MPV (wife was not having another Discovery at this time) the thing only changed into second after 3km and with just 800m to go (downhill) I was prepared to coast her into the dealership. I confess I was relieved to be out of it but the local petrol station owner used to greet me with 'Howdy Stranger!' from then on as I never saw him half as often.
