    Question TD5

This may be a silly question; but can a engine like the TD5 be converted to run without or with min computer stuff in it?????

If so would you be looking at lost preformance higher fuel sucking?

My guess would be no as the injectors are controlled by the computer.

    fair enough......

i suppose you could just fill the intercooler with diesel or oil.......

then just start the engine and......HANG ON..........!!

    this will bypass any electricals........methinks.....

actually it can be made to run without a computer BUT it means replacing all the injectors with the old school mechanical units and then bolting up a control arm. which means essentially going back to the injector setup from almost any detroit 53 series engine. Same injection pressures but you dont want to know about the $$$$ involved in the conversion actually $$$$$ aint right its more like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The hardest bit would be getting the injectors to seal correctly

Na that won't go long enough between refills. You need a feed line in the intake. Poor more for faster and less for slower
