G'day All, I made my own adaptor plate way back in 1988 and repowered my Series 3 109 S/Wagon with a 2.8lt Diahatsu (cannot remember whether it was designated as ? DL or DG but it was 2.8 lt.
It went very well and returned around 28-32mpg depending on how hard you pushed it, I cannot help you with any info re Bio-fuels but i do know that 303Gunner uses Bio-Diesel in his Tojo, you could send him a PM his name is Tony.
The biggest hassle I had with fitting this engine was the EDIC motor, and the wiring that went with it, also it had a wire that if no Oil pressure it wouldn't start either, but i managed to get around all of that, I drove it for a few years and traded up to my 110 County which I still have anyway hope that was of some help/encouragement to you cheers Dennis
PS Damn good little engines those Diahatsu's, I do have a Factory Wksp manual for the engine but it was a tad pricey at the time if your interested.
