That is a very good point but the missus agrees with Aquarangie - she likes the V8 - just wants "more zippiness" (evil grin)

    P.S. I will NOT be fitting a TD5 - it was a stupid idea - whosever it was !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Viable, absolutely....Possible, yep, seen it done!

Modified ECU (no BCU etc required)....
Defender type loom..... (No BCU, ABS etc.....)

    New mounts.....

    Some plumbing rework.....

    Fuel pump in tank.....

    Easy.....

Economical.... Depends how much you do yourself!

I've put one in a '97 Disco like Slunnie says.. It wasn't bad as far as engine swaps go but as mentioned the electronics are a bit tricky. Even the Defender version.. I used the entire take out from a wrecked running Defender from the intercooler to the output shaft of the T Case (Everything!!!). It helps it you have the Transmission crossmember. It looks good and it sounded goo whan I ran it.. I've a mate locally that has one in a 110 and the performance (chipped) is astounding! (keep in mind that V8 LR's are slow up here at 5300" abouve the Ocean).

It's apart again waiting on a couple bits (involve wiring) from the UK to make the whole process an easy task for the self fitter. this is so a friend of mine can sell these to the guys here in the States.. I chose the TD5 because it passes the Emissions regs here in my state and it's a smooth powerful motor.. If we had no Emissions regs I'd have stuck a 300Tdi or something else mechanical in it though.. 5 wires compared to 35?

I had a lift home this arvo in a chipped Td5 Disco (manual box) - my word, that thing had some poke off the mark!

It seemed a lot quicker than my 4.6 V8.

    My thoughts too!

Considering my wife also like the 'robby road racer feel' (you should see her in my 4.6 Disco!!) and she does her errands in a star rather than point to point, having a zippy diesel would be good for her, another reason for the zippy TD5 as compared to the rather tractor like performance of the 300Tdi (which I personally like)
