I tow a poptop caravan and standard springs with poly airs seem to work
The previous owner fitted them
G'day Everyone,
Currently have OME LTR Shocks and Springs fitted. I am currently considering going back to standard height due to not being able to cure the vibration.
Also I am now towing a Tvan Camper Trailer on a fairly regular basis. Any one with a camper trailer, can you please advise what measure you have taken to compensate the rear. Also I would be interested in thoughts of members who have remained at standard height.
Vehicle is a Defender 110 TD5 05.
If ant member has cured their vibrration problem can you please advise what you did to achieve this.
regards
Jake

I don't know what a van weighs in at - but I tow a dual axle trailer with boat.....
Standard rear springs, Defender 130 front springs - and polyairs on the back has it perfectly level. The shocks are Bilstein with rubber bushes. I'm very happy with the set-up - no vibration at all.

Fully agree re suspension set-up. Although I prefer Koni dampers due to their proven longevity.
I also tow a camper trailer or a two ton dual axle trailer ocassionally without a problem.
With all the towing I've done, I have found that havng a trailer that is correctly balanced is very very important. And by 'balanced' I always maintain approximately 100 lb on the drawbar - NOT the 10% of trailer weight that some 'authorities' advise.
