its a p38 1996 thanks
I take it this is a softdash ClassicRR? I would suspect the ABS pump or the ABS accumulator. Bigjon would be able to help, he is in The Alice at Suttons. (08) 89521334. Ask for Jon...

Just saw the reply. P38a's could still have the ABS pump or accumulator fault aswell, they share almost identical ABS system with Late classics.

Remember a long time ago we suggested that the best spare for a 38A was a sat phone and roadside assist.LOL
Seriously, I suggest that he call a specialist, who can go through a diagnosis with the person and MAY stress MAY be able to identify the fault.
I suggest perhaps Graeme Cooper as he has had a lot of experience in diagnosis by phone ( for Range Rover and Disco club members), and can usually supply the needed parts.
I have no financial relationship with Graeme, but know him as a friend and club member

I gather from this that the best action to take is remove the plates and buy a Disco.. I completed 6000km with my three amigos shining.

Is his brake pump running? If not, give it a light tap with a hammer (or similar). The pressure switch may have gone dicky and not allow the pump to run. The pump is the thing with the black ball on top and is on the RHS below the fuse box. I doubt that it's the accumulator. A faulty accumulator will give the symptoms of very slow to get brake pressure and no brakes after a cold start.
If needs be, he can call me tonight on my mobile 0408 483 269
