You are using them too much

No seriously are the contacts/connections nice and clean - if not this can lead to premature burn out. (bit like my mind)

If you have the standard wattage lamps it may not be wise to put larger ones is as the heat could cause problems to the lenses.

Try cleaning the contacts - make sure the terminations on the wires are good, check to see if there is a good earth (in my view 60% of auto elec faults are caused by bad earths)

When its all clean cover it in WD 40 or similar

I also had one brake light globe blowing more constantly than others. It turned out there was moisture getting into the lens area. I tightened up screws holding the rear tail-lamps and rubber seal.
Then also adjusted the fitting area (using pliers and pushing/pulling to flatten it out completely). Wanted to make sure the globe surround (the plastic bit that the globe fits into) now fits more securely. Could use a bit of glad wrap or plumbing tape.

Hasn't blown in ages (knock wood !!).

Get some self amalgamating tape from Jaycar, http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...Max=&SUBCATID= it's good to seal up your antenna connections and jobs like the one for your light.

Dont put bigger globes in...they BURN. Not only lenses, but possibly the wiring too.

    Please...preeeeedy please dont?!

Just curious, ya know, as to what brand of globe you're using. Strangely enough, you get what you pay for when it comes to glass envelopes.

If the problems persists....there's always LEDs.

Biggest hassle that I have found on all UK made vehicles is lousy earth connections to the rear loom. Sometimes things have been made worse by the towbar installer using those blue knife blade quick connects that almost cut through the wire. Run a nice clean EXTRA earth at the back end somewhere. The give-away for earth faults can often be a blackened or silvery look to the blown lamp.

Rover - as mentioned before .. putting in bigger globes will just push the power surge back to the fuse -and you will then get fuse blow-outs - and all your lights will not work !!.. and then if you try bigger fuses the wiring will burn out !!!!!!

It's just basic electronics to fit the right size all the way along. Just seal it up first.
