Where is the ABS relay on my 1996 Disco V8i ??

Where is the ABS relay on my 1996 Disco V8i ??

I've seen pictures of the 95 model but these don't match.

I see 2 rows of relays (mostly yellow coloured) after taking off the side kickpanel on the drivers side.

Is this where the ABS relay is ?? Which one ??

Thanks Ladas - Whats the facia ??
And which ones are they ?

The only relays I can see are behind the kickpanel - to the right of the accelerator pedal. \

    Thanks again Ladas,
This picture doesn't match anything under my dash or behind the kickpanels.

I believe picture maybe for a 95 model.

Ladas, really appreciate you trying to help me.

Seems I now need help finding these !!
Am I suppose to be looking for this under the steering wheel (drivers side) ?? or on the glove box side (Passenger side) ??

Is it behind the kickpanels (side panels) ??

I found some more relays under the glove box side - bolted up in a frame. Still don't look like the picture you posted.

Any wiring colours that might help me identify this g-spot ??

    Many Thanks Ladas !!!!

    I found it !!!
Of course the picture you sent me is of a left hand drive setup (not Australian right hand drive) - it's the exact mirror image of mine !!

I have now got some ABS codes - just trying to deciper them.

I've done a manual 'blink code' diagnostic of the ABS light.

What does an ABS 2-3 fault code mean ??
The codes I have dont start until 2-6 onwards.

There are literally 3 items you need to find and have ready to diagnose ABS faults in D1.

    1) Find out where is your "ABS Warning Relay" -
Some notes: My 1996 D1 V8i has it under the glovebox (Australia - right hand drive). I beleive TDi's maybe different and pictures from LandRover RAVE manaul may show it mirrored for left hand drive.

    2) Find out where the ABS "ECU" connector plug is ??
My 96 D1 has it under the dash on the drivers side - just above your left shin when its on the footrest.

    3) Follow the procedure of "earthing" the ABS code sensor pin on the ECU.
On the 95 and 96 D1 Disco it seems the ABS diagnostic pin is "pin-15" (and pin-4 is the earth pin).
    PROCEDURE for D1 Disco:

    - then reset the codes.
To reset Codes using "blink test" :
    1) After noting the codes - Pull out the Pin-4 (negative wire) connection and let the code redisplay one more time - you will see the ABS light will eventually stop flashing. This means that fault code has been erased/reset.

    2) Follow the steps of turning ignition to OFF then to ON again.
    - Re-insert the pins in ABS ECU and it will show any other codes that have built up over time.
You can note each these and reset (repeating this same way until no codes left to show).

The ABS light will eventually just do the 1 -1 code and show no more codes.
