    Cool 2003 Disco DVD player

    Hi all
I was inspecting a mates new purchase: an 03 TD5 Discovery yesterday, its immaculate and a good buy. he was asking me how the DVD player worked as he is in his 60's now and has no idea about these newfangled doodads.

Being considerably less than 60 and reasonably familiar with electronic things i still could not get it to work! Firstly where does the dvd go? The owners manual was a bit confusing, needless to say i felt like a tool after bagging him about such a simple thing.

    any help would be appriciated

    Best regards
    Blake

the DVD player is under the passenger seat, the screen comes with infrared headphones, if they are not with the truck(usualy in the overhead mesh pockets) you can buy new ones from land rover for a large some, or generic ones from a car audio place alot cheaper.

The genuine Land Rover DVD player is actually a Eurovox unit if you do get stuck & need some bits & pieces.

They're in Melbourne but any audio retailer will be able to get them.

If its the one that was installed as a promotion then it should be under the passenger seat as mentioned. It also came with a credit card sized remote too.

You have to slide the passenger seat forward and access the DVD from the behind the seat.

Does the screen show anything when you open it? From memory there is a welcome screen...

The screen turns on and off independently to the player under the seat btw. The DVDs just go straight into the slot in the player. If you don't have remote there are some buttons (play etc) on the DVD player too.

Sounds like exactly the same unit as my parent's '03 V8. Just stick a DVD in and hit play and it should work. Thats provided the DVD player is still under the seat and the seller hasn't removed it.
