Front output shaft in transfer case

I've had another vibration come into the drive train, noticeable mainy after a few k's.
Under it today and shook the uni on front of tx case only to find the whole shaft into the tx case mooved. clunking inside the box! OUCH!!!
Am I looking at big bucks or could it just be the nut holding the flange, if so how do I know how much to tighten it?

Yes my D1 had the bolt loosen and felt like what you describe.

Cut and paste from the manual for the D2 below

    4.
Position drive flange, fit new felt and steel
    washers.
    5. Position tool LRT-51-003 and tighten new
drive flange nut to 148 Nm (109 lbf.ft).
    6. Fit propeller shaft.

Even if the bearing is shot, no problems, it's a standard ordinary bearing.

other thing it could be is the output bearing just inside the housing mine was shot giving 2-4mm at a guess of play caused by box being full of mud, water, oil, (teach me for not checking it) to get the bearing out if it is not just a lose nut requires a slide hammer onto the flange and to remove shaft and bearing in 1 then remove bearing from shaft (i will see if i can find link to site that helped me out) needless to say after fixing that bearing i realised al the others were rooted ended up with secondhand t/c and a whineeeeee old one that needs new bearings (one day) hope this helps you out

Thanks guys, I was seeing dollar signs big time!
I have to go to Sydney this weekend so I'll tighten it up for the trip then investigate properly when I get back!
