Landrover Defender stretched 5 door body on 130 inch chassis. Vw V10, full speck luxury interior. raised suspenssion and of corse winch ect
yeah I find this really odd that they havn't done that. I remember when I first heard about the TDV6 my eyes lit up as I imagined that in a defender - for several reasons.
1) more grunt
2) get the F@#$king A/C out of the passengers footwell. as the V6 is so much shorter than the Td5 you could fit it in the engine bay.
...but no. I imagine that the TDv6 is just too expensive for the defender price point ? (its not like land rover have any profit margin on the defender anyway)
Still I'm pretty happy with the idea of the new transit engine.. I mean, if Sabine Schmitz can get a transit around nurburgring in 10:00 flat .. its not slow !
..its just such a shame that I can't get a new one in a hardtop.. cause I tell you what - I would have ordered it already.

A Jacobs brake AND an exhaust brake? I think you may have them mixed up. A Jake is a compression brake and is more effective than any exhaust brake, and I can't see how having both operating together would gve any additional retardation.
I had trucks with air/hydraulic braking systems and they were a PIA. Go full air/mechanical with spring parking/emergency brakes on the rear chambers. I also have a pretty low opinion of Telma retarders. My personal opinion is that their place is on passenger carrying vehicles, motor omnibuses, where the noise of a Jake is not welcome.
URSUSMAJOR
Gen3 is looking good though, or holden injected stroker (already engineered with holden v8
)
S2 with injected 289,auto,35"s something to play with on the beach![]()
