    Hi John
When the reg is really stuffed you need to crank over the key heaps for a start.
The vehicle runs ok if lacking a bit of power.
The Big give away is thrashing the thing,if it dies under load, then pics up once you release the throttle chances are its the reg,but you need to ensure the fuel pick up in the tank isnt blocked,as it will show the same symptoms, but much cheaper to fix.
    Goodluck

The relay is behind the driver's side kick panel. If the pump is running then this is the click you will be hearing. The relays are just under the ECU.

I found that when my pump was having trouble that it would run fine once started.

Even if yours is on LPG the pump will run when the engine is running.

inspection of spark: pulled out No1 plug and lead, rested it on top of the plenum chamber, cranked motor and the spark was yellow, not a constant spark however if there's supposed to be...The colour of the plugs (iridium ones) look OK

The ignition module set-up: There is a module connected to the distributor with wiring from it to another ignition module near the coil on the left side of the car. I don't know what's going on here...I'm not too sure when this was done as I bought the car like this.

Do I have bad quality spark to add to all this?

I have some time off coming up so I'll get the car to a mech for a look-see.

    Thanks

    got pinched today!

    130 up hill.

Foot was barely on the throttle. Heaps of grunt on tap.
    I reckon it's a spark issue...

Being doing an Italian T.Up. I noticed no hesitation, no choking. Might get the Ignition Module looked at....
    Any thoughts???

    electrics

Had the electrics checked out today and everything's OK.
Time to bite the bullet and get the fuel pressure side of things done.

JMAN, I just bought a replacement pump off eBay for $62 delivered Express post, it is for a holden VN/VS 6 or 8cyl., I will post the item # when I find it, I would also suspect the Fuel Pressure Regulator, if it is not holding pressure when you turn the engine off you will have the problems you're having, Regards Frank.

Don't ever run your petrol tank dry, because the fuel lubricates the pump and keeps it cool, because the fuel pump is running when on LPG, a mate of mine burnt his car to the ground running with an empty fuel tank, pump got HOT and caught fire and the tank exploded, Regards Frank.
