Hey guys, just to follow up. I have made a few enqiuries but to no avail. I have been told that my 50mm lift ( probablly more like 35mm) is too high for the long travel Koni' and I will top out????? is this true? AS i am sure there are people here who have got a 50mm lift and have fitted long travel Koni shocks.
Slunnie what have you got under your disco.??
standard Koni's aren't very long, basically standard stroke.
RR air suspension fronts are a touch longer than coiler fronts. I have the specs filed if you want them, or do a search on OL as I listed them there years ago.
Any 30-50mm lift kit you get uses standard stroke dampers. To get longer stroke you either have to substitute different dampers (eg. 80 Series TLC fronts for Landy fronts) and modify (lift) the towers so they wont go metal to metal.
There are numerous threads on here and OL on this.
You can also contact Jeff at Proven Products, tell him what you want and he can make a Koni to suit, with the appropriate valving.
<edit> BTW, what is your bump stop clearance sitting on a level piece of concrete ?
Hi Willvine,
just re-read your original post and realised it's for a D2, so my advice above is worthless
BTW, that's a fair lift. It's what I ended up with using 17" free length (Rangie Spares 'Purple') springs in the front of the 'fender, and to maximise it I use TLC 80 series shocks (nearly 10" stroke) with the towers raised, but that doesn't help you much.
IIRC, Slunnie ended up with custom shocks.
