    Land Rover Bottle Jack

Land Rover Disco 2 ton bottle jacks are repairable as far as the seals go there just "O"rings cost about $3.50 for parts. Just pulled mine apart because it wouldn't extend all the way any more, now it works great. PS only took about 1/2 hour to fix.

Not very hard at all. You'll need hammer, punch, multi grips or steelsons, replacement oil I used engine oil, bench vice. Start with knocking off the cradle on the end of the jack. Then using the multi grips undo the lock nut it has two noches in it. Then twisting the bottle part side to side and pulling up it will pull off leaving the rams sitting there in the base. PS when doing this oil will go every where. Then lock the base plate in the vice and undo the ram part out of the base, you'll then be able to separate all of the parts and just replace all the Orings and your done. Just ask if you need more info.

Mine leaked oil while lying on its side. I thought it was the dreaded "oil in wiring loom" until I went to use the jack and it wouldn't rise. I bought some jack oil from Repco, topped it up and all was ok. I now carry it upright in a rear bin.
