    G'day Homestar.
Re NSW caravan rego....what do you reckon.

    Supreme Getaway 15' x 6'
    Tare 1420kg.
    GVM 1850kg.
    Reg. fee.............$ 65.00
    Vehicle Tax........$270.00

    Total.................$335.00

So imagine one of those 22' x 3500kg. Behemothic Gin Palaces and you get an idea why some NSW 'vanners are a trifle disgruntled with the RMS (used to be RTA)

    Holy crap!!!

Just got my rego renewal for
    Roma Caravan 15' x 6'10"
    Tare 880kg
    GVM 1450kg
    Reg fee $58.10

If It was as high as yours I would have sold it as soon as I returned from Qld.
But seeing it is so cheap I am hanging on to it in case I want to go away sometime.

I also should have said that the vehicle tax is an upward sliding scale paid on the tare.
We also have an annual inspection to pay for...another $25.00

That is why you see lots of NSW cars towing Vic registered vans.

I often wonder what the legal position is. I know of one bloke in a club in NSW who is quite open about it with his 21ft offroad van, although if you think he can afford a Disco 4 and a $100K plus van you wonder why he would bother.
