    Anyone hava spare fuel guage

    Anyone got a spare fuel guage For a defender Mine has died and am after one to replace it?

    The other point of course - are you sure it is the gauge? Wiring problems are a lot more likely.

    As JDNSW says, I have seen a broken reostat circuit board on a sender unit in the tank of a Defender... Gauges are quite hardy, whereas the senders are pretty "how's your father."

    also double check the earth to the gauge. Where are you? I have one you can try.

    my brother an elctrician and its deffinatly the guage it won't hit full and waves all over whenever it feels like it even if it is shorted out to hit full. the sender had been checked and the wiring so its definatly the guage. Am based on Northside Brisvagus

    It may well be the gauge - but the symptoms sound like a faulty earth on the gauge itself. (could be the earth connection is faulty internally)
