    defender heater box

    im about to go out and pull the heater box out of my 95 defender rave cd makes it look prety easy anyone here done one lately?

    The only pain is when A/C is fitted, getting to the bottom 2 bolts. They are under the back of the evap unit under the passenger side dash. and they are NOT captive. Last time I did it, I had noone to help so I held the nut in the engine bay side with vice grips while I undid the bolt under the A/C evaporator from inside!!

    Everything else isn't too bad.

    i think mines the only one with out a/c in the country every other one i have seen had a/c

    well no less than about 5 mins and it was out. heater core is rooted. there was only one bolt holding the box in and it was lose

    heater core price...

    Aftermarket heater core is available from National radiators (Natrad) from $260. Well that's how much I payed , maybe you can find a better deal. It has done the job so far.

    how do you get to the nuts without removing aircon inside?

    got one at natrad today 200 bucks. made in england no plastic and aluminium crap on it it should last good
