You KNOW you want one, especially when the 510Nm 200KW chip, 3" exhaust and HUGE front mount I/C goes in....

It can't hurt, especially when you see the restriction and gunk that is in the throttle body....
Go for it if it's cheap enough. Easy fit too, only pain can be the Hex head bolts at the front of the exhaust manifold where the blanking plate goes, they can break off/and become rounded during removal

Thats right, it's only a plate, the only problem arises if the inlet isn't stainless, (Because of the corrosion issue) and the blanking plate isn't thick enough, and warps causing a leak.

If you want, I can get our local eng. bloke to quote on a 'kit' if you like? At least you know what you are getting!

But how come the Td5alive one isnt just a bolt on plate and it has a tube also. Where does the tube lead to ? and why does one kit not have it ?

All the plate does is block the flow from the exhaust manifold. I put one of those on and it caused more issues so I took it off.

IMO you need to remove the whole system including the valve and for that you need the kit that has the air inlet pipe.

I don't think there would be any problem simply fitting the blanking plate provided you remove the vacuum lines from the butterfly and EGR valve and also unplug the actuators.
BUT! You have to be sure your EGR valve is still seating properly and not letting by or the exercise is a waste of time.

Also, blank off the vacuum lines.

    Cheers,
