    I put mine in the coin tray. Needed to cut it out a little but otherwise it is a near perfect fit and looks factory.

    Hi mate;

    I recieved my Pyrometer 2 days ago ,but I was Planning to fit mine on the RHS where the ashtray used to, I have switched it's place with the " Blank Plate " that was over on LHS. so that EGT Gauge can be on the driver's side, but it'll be Bit Hard to see it while you're driving and trying to keep your eyes on the Road , wouldn't you agree?

    Hi Eddo

    Just wondering if you have installed your gauge ? not sure if I'm supposed to power the gauge from the ignition or does it have a On/Off switch, it may sound silly but I wired mine to straight to 12 volts ?

    EGT Gauge

    Edddo
    I fitted my EGT gauge last week using the blank switch surround under the clock RHS.If you want it on the LHS you can interchange the blank switches with the ashtray or use the coin tray.It is only a question of using a hacksaw and some patient filing of the surround to obtain a perfect fit.I used the upper spare spade terminal[vertical]that is alongside the under dash fusebox next to the door pillar,for the power source[inline fuse].The lead from the sensor goes through a cut on the side of the large rubber grommet that carries the electrical cable to the right of the steering column.Have only seen EGT temp up to 400 so plenty of scope for tuning the pump!
    Cheers
    Geoff

    hi Geoff ,

    A pyrometer registering 400 deg would certainly not be under Full load condition , ie Foot flat to the Floor with the Boost gauge registering 15 psi climbing up a Big long Hill, if you are intending to tweek your Pump be absolutely sure that you have done all the required tests prior to this Mod , it doesn't take much and believe me I did it today "to get the Pyrometer to reach 600-650 deg under full Load" so ( Fuel Pump settings is back to original factory settings ) except the stop screw which has been wounded up but this only affects the No Boost to low boost driveability , so under Full Load and Boost gauge up at around 15 psi the extra Fuel charge will cause your EGT to rise much more rapidly and will place you in the danger zone quicker , if you do end up tweeking your Fuel Pump up ofcourse you will immidiately have to back off from pushing the Throttle,also a Boost gauge is also Handy tool to have...

    have a good one..

    I have heard a lot about the dangers and risks of high EGT's but who has seen or had damage from this, what might be an early sign of running egts too high?

    Not quite sure I'm understanding the question?

    but I'll try and answer the best way I know how ...Exhaust gas Temperature no greater that 700 degrees for a prolong period , or you will end up Cooking your Engine , you can certainly try it... no just kidding...that why some guys here install Pyromters to back off from the Throttle when EGT reaches a max allowable limit of I would say about 650-700 but some people here are more conservative and that's Understandable ,it's big dollars if you damage your engine and not many people these days have a few Grand just lying around to buy a new engine, or completely rebuild their existing Engine... well i certainly don't know of any ...

    or if you are planning on Tweeking your Pump do a search on this Forum , This forum has Wealth of Information
    on how to adjust your Pump and do it right to avoid any detrimental damage to your engine..and also there has been Numerous Threads on EGT etc.
