    MAF Sensor Brisbane

Hey Guys, just made the trip from the Alice from to Brissy with a dodgy MAF sensor and the fuel economy wasn't too flash. Price in Alice is about $400, price here in Toowoomba where i am at the moment is $800 from the dealer, i told him he had his figures wrong but he was convinced that is how much they normally are so i told him our conversation was over. Anyway, does anyone know where the cheapest place in Brissy is too buy one and i'll pick it up later in the week when i'm back down there. Also on a side note, does anyone know someone who reconditions aircon compressors? mine is stuffed and don't feel up to faulkin out the 1200 moular for a new one (the Toowoomba guy wanted $2300for a new one , couldn't believe it) mine works just leaks so the seals must have gone in it.

Oil in the Harness, suspension knock, transmission clunk, engine oil leaks, exhaust manifold leaks, centrifugal oil filter stripped bolts, a/c leaks, door leaks, wouldn't trade it for the world

Mass airflow sensor is straight off the airbox on td5 engines, not sure of exact functionings but apparently car will be a bit sluggish when sensor fails as ecu just uses a set config. someone else will be able to explain it much better

I would order it from the Alice and pay the small freight. You cant tell whether they are working from a wrecker. I got one for my 02 V8 a few months ago and it was 700 odd...bloody stealers. I tried getting a Weber (webcon they are now called for their injection side) and they are in the UK - very good to deal with but alas the specs were different and she didnt run so well....sent back got another same thing. Got a full refund including postage here and back. Had to admit defeat and go to Austral....which I hate with a pashion.

    Cheers

I dunno how much the MAF sensors are usually but try and give M.R. Automotive at Redcliffe a call on 07 3284 6688.

Else you could try British Offroad at Forest Glen down the Sunshine Coast on 07 5445 1094.

I've also heard good things about Ricks 4x4 at Nerang on 07 5596 6662...

Yep, was going to suggest these three and just having bought one from Rick's 4x4 I think it cost me around the $300 mark. Some one from the Gold Coast could surely get it to Brisbane for you or freight is going to be bugger all as it's a tiny box.
'99 Manual TD5 D2.......heap of money spent on it and it has ended
