    Ford 3 litre Duratorq

Just thinking out loud, but I followed a link posted about the Duratorq motors used in the MY07+ D110 and got me thinking is it possible to use the Ford 3 litre Duratorq in a Defender or even Rangie?

A 3.0 L Duratorq similar to the 2.5 is also used in the 2007 Ranger as the top of the range. It produces 156 PS (154 hp/115 kW) and 380 N·m (280 ft·lbf).

Although I am not sure , I think that this engine is actually a 300Tdi, which then became the 2.8 Brazilian, then a fully electronic 3 litre.
So yes it should fit (LOL), but the bloke who brings the 2.8 in, says its not easy because of the electronics.
    Maybe he will respond.

I thought the new 3 litre was a Duratorq designed by Ford / Peugeot and built by Ford? Not a 3 litre International motor?

Nah it is a completely different engine to the 300TDI and not compatible as just a swap over.

There is a thread somewhere where Jase and I were talking about it a while back.

It was the previous Ranger that had the 2.8 inter motor in it.

You could do a conversion easy enough but it would be all custom.

it is only part of the Ford / Peugeot development - they have been working for years on diesel technology, early 80's in Europe had a 2.1 then 2.5 Pug motor in a Ford Granada (XF Falcoooon)

I saw the granada when i lived in the Uk, looked like someone sliced about 6 " out of an XD horizontally, yeah the ford/ peugeot tdi comes in 1.4L up to the TDV6.
