    Smile Fuel Smell

Back for more help. 1993 V8 non cat.

Occasionaly smell like car is flooding, vehicle appears to be running well no real issues. Read in Forum Air bleed bypass may need adjusting. Mine has been replaced recentley but I thought the ecu did this. ???? Has anyone the inital set up specks so i can check it. At the moment I have done the thermostat, Water temp sender, Vacum advance unit, cleaned the MAF and adjusted it and the step motor to within spec's as found on forums. Is there a specific test to check the MAf operation????
Any hints also what timing is reccomended. If you have not worked it out yet I'm a compulsive fiddler.

Fuel smell from where? Engine, exhaust?

If exhaust, it could be running rich There was a post here over the last week that cleaning the MAF bypass sensor apparently cured a running rich problem. Can't recall who's post it was for the mo, but it was a regular.

Also, it appears that fiddling with the MAF adjustment can cock up your mixture & it could again be running rich.

Advice: "If it ain't broke it don't need fixin'"

If it was a RR classic, i'd say fuel filler cap.

Very noticable with a full tank and hard-left corners

I had that smell and found it was a badly split gearstick rubber boot letting the fumes in
