    checker up or down?

    Hi Guys
I cut all the sheetmetal up for my trailer today.
Galv sheet for the walls checker for the floor.
I planed to fit the checker upside down to give a smooth floor.
I put the checker check side up to see how it looks, looks mutch better.
I can only think a smooth floor is mutch more pratical.
    What do you lot think????
Getting the sides bent during the week now its all cut up.
PS save all your cut off wheels from your drop saw, they are perfect in the circular saw for cutting sheetmetal!!!!

Id say checkered side up slip resistant when you need it (wet weather) and will hold whatever is in the back from sliding around to much ,also being the underside smooth surfaces tend to rust less than a uneven surface ,and it looks better

All so if you have to slide something that is very heavy into the trailer it gets caught on the chequer plate as you slide said heavy object in

It is a hydraulic tipper,so sweeping out whilst tipped is easy!!!!
Must admit,I do like the look of the checkerplate.
OK how about its other intended use,a camper trailer.
Im guessing stuff chaffing on the checker on unsealed roads is another reason for checker down.

we had a checker up trailer at work and found the top rusted as the water was always laying around the checker bottoms, any dirt left behind helped the rust
