You're right, the extra resistance makes the car think it has a trailer on. I tried turning the headlights on so my Disco could see that there was no trailer, but as they shine forward the car obviously could not see if there was a trailer or not so I live with the little green trailer on the dash.VERY IMPORTANT; explain this to your wife, mine paniced thinking every time she turned the blinker on (preceeded with a wipe of the windscreen) the hazard were on!!!

Argh could have been worse, "Darling, when I indicate, it's saying to watch out for a trailer...but I couldn't see one".

My wife hasn't driven our Disco since fitting the bar so I'm curious to hear what her comment will be when the time comes.

I had my fiance screaming at me the other day because she took off in the rangie and the ABS light was on...till she hit 10k's an hour. I tired to explain that it was a selftest and its meant to do that......

Silly silly, Yes the trailer is behind the car - So you should have put on the reversing lamps!

Have you considered the NARVA LEDs - one of their side lamps is about the same size as the fitting on the ARB bar.

My problem was slightly different in that I needed a repeater for my tail light combination, when my HF auto-tune antenna obstructed the view. In this case I was required to have the full lux of the original 21W globes, hence the expensive option.
