Mate your grey 95 v8 disco. is it a 5 door? Did you purchase it from an AJ in townsville? If so, read on if not disregard this post.
I sold one when I (well I bought and sold a few up in townsville) that pretty much fits that description when I got up there. I know its a long shot but if youve only had it for 3 years thats about when he would have sold it to post out of townsville.
The easy way to spot it if it is mine is to look under the bottom of the back of the center cubby, if you happen to find a length of blue extension cord under there thats been cut off + tucked up (was put there to run a fridge + charge a battery) go crawl under the vehicle and have a very very close look at the top of the rear diff you might find a blanked off air fitting on the diff..
you guessed it thats an ARB difflock that I put in as when we bought the vehicle It had a stuffed rear diff and I managed to pick up a couple of ARB'd diffs at cheaper than I could get a proper rover diff. We didnt fit the air or anything else as at the time we were doing up vehicles we were purchasing cheap from AJ's that had wrecked them and were posting out then selling them back to the new arrivals for a tidy profit.
