when the switch is operated does it switch negitive. Put the test light onto the end terminals in the switch and the window goes up or down depenant on what end of the plug. Light dosnt come on though so my thoughts were tat they have continuos power.
    cheers

    hi brad
had a play in there. What puzzles me is that it has a relay for left and right or front and rear so if it was a relay there should be 2 windows not working?. It seems like what ever is supplied to the centre pin of the switch is missing, maybe its an earth supplied from the relay
can see this is going to take a few more hours of my time.
    cheers

    Hi Blaze,
I know this is an old post but I have been on hols and hence off the air. I have the same problem with my project car so it is not super urgent ,but I have the control box out from under the centre console and the left front and both rear windows still work. I figure that the box and its 2 relays all pertain to the drivers window. I guess by now you have sorted the problem one way or the other, so this may be useless info, but if you learned anything else of interest it may be of help to me if you could post it. I have an electronocs guy checking the componentry but we are not sure if this will help
    Regards Ian.

Try taking the plug off the back of the switch and trying it in another switch. I just had the exact same problem, and the drivers window switch was full of dirt and all I did was soak it in CO contact cleaner and all is well. His did the same thing. Left the car and came back and window wouldn't go down.

another check is to make sure the wires havent broken or cut where they pass from the body to the door........

try holding the switch down whilst opening the door..........this may move the wires enough to make contact for a brief second......

only long enough to try and diagnose this problem......
