    LRA Snorkels Classic Rangie

Hi all I have just got myself a LRA Snorkel and was wondering if anyone had any pictures of their rangie with one installed, specifically around where it goes through the panel in front of the windscreen as I want to make sure I cut the hole in the right spot. Thanks in advance

Thanks would be a great help. I have downloaded the instructions and vague is a very good way to describe them.

Fitting the snorkel is not difficult, just tedious with cutting the hole in the panel. I did mine last year, and like you was very nervous.
Basically you position the snorkel against the A pillar and resting on the panel below, and start cutting where it touches the panel, continue cutting bit by bit, cutting/sitting in place/cutting more/ fitting etc etc. You end up with a funny shaped hole in the panel, but the snorkel slides in and covers it neatly. I do not think there is a template, and given the panel curve etc I would probably not trust one anyway.

Do you wind up with just a hole of does the cut extend all the way to the front edge of the valance panel?

    thanks for your help!

A mechanic friend started the process on his own vehicle while I was watching and it was sort of how RR Turbo D suggests. One thing however that I did observe is an issue where the inner panel is located.

In the original position he marked and cut, he was too far inboard and subsequently had to rotate the snorkel outboard on the "A" pillar to clear the inner panel. This left a part of the cut panel that was visible from the front.

My plan is to identify visually the margin of the inner panel (by sighting in from the engine bay) and mark the edge of the panel with a whiteboard marker. Then start the process of marking, cutting and re-positioning the snorkel as described, making sure that I clear the inner panel with a room for the flexible tubing.

Just too scared to do it at the moment!
