Tough dog and Pedders have them made to there spec by Monroe.
They look the same because theyre made in the same factory. Tough dog use truck size shafts.
Please correct me if you have proof.
IIRC Rancho are made on a separate line in of the US Monroe factories. (Tenneco own them both)
And I still think they are over-rated bits of dog doo doo too.

Agree 100% - a mate fitted some to his series/coiller hybrid. Snapped the eyes off both rear shocks one one of his first trips out with them.

I have been using my 60's army monroes on the IIA as limiting straps for years, and have only even managed to break an eye of one of them once.

    They didnt, they're Gabriels...

Tough Dog are Brazilian, Not USA or AU....

    TJM are Copac from Brazil

OME are made in the Monroe factory to OME design and spec

Rancho are made by Rancho, a division of Monroe but in a dedicated plant

Tough Dog are truck spec shocks

OME develop their own valving etc, then have the plant in Adelaide manufacture to their specifications, and their LTR range are hand built on a dedicated line.

Tough Dog, OME and TJM have their coils wound by Kings.

Wow, Ive looked very closely at Monroe, Tough dog and Pedders. I was replacing the Doggies with monroes on one of our two Pajeros and had Peddars on the other one. I compared the front shocks of each and barring colour and stickers. The tubing, welding, seals and general shape of all three were exactly the same.
But they didn't preform the same. I found the peddars worked best( but they were fitted to a SWB the other 2 fitted on a LWB ) The Doggie had a shorter stroke. This shorter stroke caused the demise of its bushes as the Pajero ifs could not use its full (short) travel.
I have Gabriel shockies on my Zook and they look nothing like the others in construction.
    This needs closer investigation.
