    Question *** Stroker crank ?? ***

    Hi guys,does anyone know what the maximum cc you can take a 3.9L V8 out to by using a longer stroke crank from a different engine? i am told you can use the 4.2L rangie crank & rods etc as my engine has done around 240K now and i am kinda planning on giving it a birthday sometime soon but,this is my first Landy & i don't know a lot about them,has anyone done this at rebuild time??

    I had a stroked 3.9 in my RR, it used a John Davis crank and falcon 250 High comp pistons, ending up with 9.5:1 compression.

    Went well, very torquey.

    Ended up being about 288 cubes, 4.7 litre capacity, although they called it a 4.6.

    Triumph Rover spares in Adelaide take the 4.6 out to 5.2 I believe.

    Engine was already built and installed when I got the car. John Davis motor works in Amaroo pk NSW did the build. They are no longer around, but Bruce Davis performance is now carrying out stroker conversions, I think using the 4.6 4 bolt block as a base. (02) 96791179

    I have a buick 300 crank and Brand new pistons and rods inc flywheel and harmonic balancer if u are interested.Takes out standard 3.5 to 4.3 litres

    My RR had a 4.2 litre crank. I have heard of them being available in the UK up to 5 litre for the 3.5/3.9 block.
