new tyres
I am having a bad tyre/wheel year! Earlier in the year i bought some highway tyres and had trouble with them and find my rims were not round..thats sorted with replacement disco rims. Now I have bought a new set of Maxxiss bighorns tyres to go on my other rims (sunnies) and they seem to have too much runout on them..about 4-5mm each- (I checked this by putting the disco on stands and putting it in drive.) ....This results in a resonating tyre noise at low speed on bitumen and a steering and or general vibration (not massive tho) at about 100. I have given the supplier/fitter the car back this morning to remedy the situation. What do you think is an acceptable amount of verticle runout on a new muddie. In my mind 4mm is too much for a new tyre.
The previous set of muddie recaps had virtually no runout on them.
