Sorry, not sure how much, owner supplied. I think he got it off E bay from memory, I'll find out tomorrow. The only down side is drilling into the expansion bottle for the level float. Don't like THAT idea one bit. I usually use a RRC level/ cap combination and a ELB100 coolant level gauge from flexdrive as a coolant level warning system. It is way more expensive at around $275 for the parts, but it is all Factory looking and NO drilling into an already weak expansion bottle.

The other systems monitored are AMPS, Volts and head/ block temp from memory. I'll let evryone know tomorrow when I open up the box...

    If I survive the night...

Buy them off The Entertainer (Jan Dippenaar) on this forum. See the LBB website: Suppliers/Installers

One issue I had with mine was the coolant level sensor. It was supplied with a stainless steel self-tapping screw which goes into the reservoir.

I'm a tad annoyed as I drilled into a brand new reservoir and the sensor doesn't work. Knowing my luck in buying stuff, it could be a faulty unit.

I've bought the float level switch off Jan and will be fitting that - but it goes into a different location from the screw so the hole is not useful.

One thing that is a pain is that the wires are too short so one has to find wire of the same gauge and colour to extend them. I advised the manufacturers of this. It may only be an issue with the P38A which connects under the RH front seat. If they want to sell them in LHD markets, they will need to extend the wires.

They need lamp dimming at night. The lights are too bright (the alternator light is on all the time - usually green to indicate all's well).

OK, Well fitted the unit. VERY easy to install. The only adjustment required is to calibrate the temp warning buzzer/light. (This is explained in the notes downloaded from the web, and wasn't in the box ...but we worked it out. )
The system monitors and alarms engine water level, cylinder head temps, alternator volts and oil pressure.

The wiring was easily long enough to reach, as we mounted it under the RH 'coin tray' section of the D1 dash, next to the cup holder. (There was no double sided tape in the kit, and no conduit for the wiring either. We have these in stock luckily.)

My total aversion to drilling the expansion bottle led me to supply a RRC vogue SE coolant warning switch/ radiator cap for this installation, an extra $120.00. This was a non negotiable decision, as I will not be held responsible for a perforated expansion bottle on the side of the Tanami rd a year later...!

    Hi Stevo,

Well, I have had a BAD experience doing this in the past and I wont return to it!! ( It was in no way connected to fitting one of these kits though) The other reason is that I have a paying customer who wont be impressed if something goes astray. I much prefer the cap sensor to keep it all original looking and ultimately more reliable. $120 is abit less of a problem NOW when later it could strand the vehicle in a remote area. Don't forget how difficult it would be to actually REPAIR one of these useless expansion bottles in the bush. (The bush tucker man uses spinifex resin to fix these kind of leaks, but most wouldn't know what to do in this circumstance.)

I am responsible for this particular vehicles utmost reliability therefore it gets the cap sensor. period.

I to purchased one off Jan and am very happy, I also purchased a new bottle and fitted it to that.

The old one is in the back in case there is ever an issue.

    Cheers
