It's a bad time of the year obviously, but personally at those prices, I'd be getting them reconditioned. Can't be much ie. bearings, poss. rewind, so what else is there to go wrong?
You don't say what's wrong with them.
just wondered if any one has fitted aftermarket a/c condensor fan motors to a 94 rangey ( not sure if disco ones are the same). rang around the usual suppliers who tell me there land rover only parts, nippon denso wouldnt even quote me as im not in the trade and land rover want $780.00 each. ive stripped them down and there just worn out, not bad for 13 years old i suppose, any help would be greatly appreciated

sorry 4bee, the winding are worn through were the brushes run, never seen this type of motor before were the windings are like a big thin flat disc
Windings or Commutator?
Have an Auto sparky check them out & advise, is my suggestion, Neil.
will do 4bee thanks for that.
Mine on a V8 D1 are also shot.........any one had any experience sourcing these 2 fans as after-market???
......thanks but this is not a thermo replacement for viscous. I would prefer not to make up brackets for these 2 small condensor fans (both triggered by AC on or engine coolant temp up) so after-market plug and play fan motors only are OK (as fans/housings are fine) if anyone knows where to source them?
Neil, just had a look, and the last fans I got someone were $230 each. This included motor and fan. pass on your vehicle VIN and I'll see what I can find.

If you buy Supercheap 10 inch fans for $79 each they are really easy to mount by drilling 3 holes in the cross bars after grinding off the bolts with a dremel.
Any 10 inch aftermarket fans will do and you can fit one 12 inch and one 10 inch if you have small Hella horns by a bit of bending.
The aftermarket fans have sliding inserts in four places but only three can be used due to the spacing of the bars. For ease of fitment and condenser clearance I attached them with big rivets.
