I have stage 1 parts but im on the east side of the feild
All mechanical parts in good nic too only traveled 160k![]()
Not that I've hunted around yet, but I thought the combined wisdom here might know something.
I need things like stub axles and (groan) front axle shafts and CVs and crownwheel and pinions and so on. (All the expensive bits.)
The problem is that this isn't for a weekend run-around or something like that, but a car to be used regularly in remote areas, so the quality has to be tops. I don't want to buy brand-new just to wind up with Indian/Bulgarian/wherever knock-offs.
I'm upgrading from standard SIIA stuff so this @^$% "modern" CV thing is a bit of a worry compared to a plain universal joint!

if your keeping the original engine about the only thing youd want to change is the rear diff for an 8HA....
dont bother with changing the rest of the stuff to stage 1 stuff unless your going for a full time 4x4 conversion.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
Yes, changing everything. (Sigh.) I just can't take the 2.25 any more! And I've got a Roverdrive to keep us at 90-100 but it doesn't like hot temperatures and keeps turning the oil black so it's got to go, too.
That's why I need some good parts . . . if any are left.

I live just down the track in Karratha and keep a good range of spare parts but they are used to keep my stage 1 going this is what Ive found.
The best (read cheapest) place to get stage 1 parts is in New Zealand the Kiwi army has recently gotten rid of a heap of units and I have been buying parts over there.
Diffs are easy just 10 spline Range Rover stuff
Axles buy cheap in New Zealand or even better buy Maxi Drive stuff and forget about them.
Standard axles usually on the short side will break in time
CV eventually wear out but usually only break with the 4BD1 Isuzu when abused, I have never broken one.
There are unique Stage 1 parts mainly in the front axle that are hard to find but not impossible, all 4x4 spares in Kotara have most parts 02 49571117.
The front output housing on the LT95 is also unique to the stage 1 as is the front axle housing. If you use stage 1 diffs remember they are a different ratio than the series stuff so you will need a pair.

I have 2 Stage1 originalV8s(a wagon and a panelvan),the one my Bro had plus another.
Original plan was to make a firewood ute out of one and sell the other.
Will look at selling/parting out as I want a camper trailer top for my trailer Im building.
Buy the pair and you have a mountain of parts!!!!
Could help out with a contact for a local freight company that does plenty of trips up to the Kimberley.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I dropped a line to that Kotara mob, but haven't heard back yet.
Andy, I could certainly use some parts, so I'll send you a PM. I'd love to take both cars but shipping up to here is usually about $1000 a vehicle from Perth!
