Thanks for that, we have just bought it. It has dual battery's so the owner before hand have moved or ditched the jack.

If you need to get a new wheelbrace, get yourself one of those aftermarket ones with the extendable handle, and a 27mm impact socket.
-much easier to use especially if you have alloys.

    Jack Missing Too !

Hi Having just bought my 98 TDI Discovery I too went in search of the jack & brace.. both are missing.... Is there any recommendations for a jack from one of the auto motive chains. Mine does not have dual batteries so the space is still there for storage.

    Thanks Dave

It's probably best if you can get an OE Disco bottle jack. For a couple of reasons.
    1. It has the special "cradle" at the top for going under the axle housing. Most aftermarket ones only have a flat surface on top, making it harder to jack off the recommended points. ( oops excuse the expression its the only real way to say it )
    2. Aftermarket bottle jacks may not give enough lift.

UPDATE : The OE jack with the twin shafts has a maximum lifted height of 390mm and a capacity of 2000kg. Packed height is 180mm and the base is 120mm square. Its actually a rebadged "CORAM" brand jack, made in Italy. Coram don't appear to operate in Australia.

Wreckers or aftermarket LR specialsits might have a few OE jacks from wrecked vehicles.
For wheel chocks ( which are also essential if jacking a Disco ) you could replace the OE one with some of those aftermarket folding ones. They're not quite as high but I use them.
