A carb'd 86 RRC shouldn't have one - EFI models (And I'm slightly in the dark as to what year EFI started) have a fuel cut off inertia switch in the engine bay, on the firewall near the washer bottle - it has a rubber hood on it ( I think)
i own a 86 range rover can anyone tell me where the inertia swich is located
Thanks

G`day
If fitted with factory EFI ( flapper ) doesn`t have one .
RR 89/90 with 3.9 ( hot wire ) had them first i think .
Rover cars and Jag cars had them pre 86 with the flapper EFI .
Cheers
Thank you for the info

Also located under the front passenger seat, definitely on 89 models anyway. Push the seat forward and access from the back.
Range Rover Vogue 1986, automatic
car was running normally, parked it overnight and came to start it next morning and the engine would turn over but will not start, compression ok, spark plugs ok, replaced computer becasue i initally thought that was the problem, replaced fuel relay, still no results...can anyone help

does it have fuel in it?
failing that dud fuel pump?
G`day , pretty hard from here but ....
Does it try to fire at all ?
Does it do anything when you just hit the ignition let it rotate a little then let the key go ?
Is the battery a goody and known to be fully charged ?
When you turn the key to on can you feel/hear the fuel pump relay trip ? ( as in put one hand on the relay and turn the key with the other )
What colour is the fuel pump relay ?
Cheers

sounds like fuel pump.......
have someone turn the key to reds as you give the fuel tank a few kicks.....it may just get the fuel pump to run......
then you will know for sure........
