    Fuel pump....again!

    Hi All,

back from a lovely two weeks in Coral Bay, the Defender ran brilliantly except on the way back the fuel pump started becoming noisy. Now quite loud all the time.

Dirt in the (roadhouse) fuel perhaps? I'll try changing the filter first - hope I'm not up for another new pump.

I'd be pulling the pump ASAP so as not to suck up much muck. I think you may be right about the cause. And why did you have to mention my most favourite place in WA???

Can't wait to get back to the beach near Point Cloats and Jane bay up the Reef road. Some of my best off the beach fishing was had there....Queen fish, Nor west snapper, Golden Trevally....the lures got a hammering and so did the esky

Got the 5 litre WB ute bogged in Yardie creek, but that story is for another time...

Any chance of replacing it with an outboard pump? that is, (I'll get in first) a pump outside the tank.

    urmmm

yes there is but it means a major rework of the intank pump, the filtering system and the lines....

I have a project on simmer on rebuilding the pump assembley and using a differnt pump.... but the first pump was not suitable as its only available in 24v.
