Hi all
I have a some problems with my vehicle and would apreciate any advice.
Could you please tell me what is involved with and likely cost of replacement of the double cardan joint as I believe mine is failing (vibration from under my feet).
My transfer case is so hard to get into low range is there and easy fix, I always drive and select neutral prior to pushing the lever through but it feels as if something is going to break with the pressure required.
I also have a whine from under the bonnet after I shut off the engine. I thought it may be the turbo but have been told that if it was making that much noise the bearings would be stuffed & it would have died by now.
Thanks
Ken

costs vary from $300 ish to $1300ish. Heed the warnings about rebuilds. If you go for a shaft swap its an 8 bolt DIY job.
In one of those I mentioned about looking into fabricating an "anti weight of death" strap and a shield to stop the aircon leaking onto it. while its out it might pay to have a looksee.
good luck to ya.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
That DC wont vibrate for very long before it lets go and does significant damage, so see to it promptly.
