Thanks Peter is it easier to route the Blue under or through the Vehicle ? Thanks and regards George
Hi George,
On the brake switch atop the pedal, the plug has a green with purple trace, this is the wire you require.
You do NOT need a diode in a D2.

Hi Ron I sent a longish Email not sure if it went or not (Pete answered my question ) Regards George
As I am also about to install a brake controller that info is very handy to me also. There is also a question asked about where to run the Blue wire I would also like to have some help with this. I have just purchased my Discovery 2000 TD5 which I am very happy with. It is a well kept car never seen any off road action which I hope to change. I also have just joined AULRO and am enjoting reading all the posts and am learing a bit along the way. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Hi all... Also fitting a tekonsha prodigy to my D2 td5... Thanks a million for all the information and advice...![]()
Dumb question, but how has everyone else run the wire to the brake light switch and to the trailer plug?
I'm thinking inside and down to the back for the trailer plug (blue) wire and chopping the brake light wire (GP) and soldering a bullet connector on to it for the red (activation). But then I thought, whilst I'm running the blue wire to the rear, why not come back off the stop light to the red wire.
I'm fitting a Tekonsha P3 to a D2a
