    Paul,

Thanks for that - who did you purchase your warranty from? Did you purchase it when you bought the car or after?

hey, you blokes better stop getting these insurance policies to pay for themselves in the first year...pretty soon none of them will be available to Land Rover owners!

Swann did mine, and yes the book said 5000km etc...

However, I rang Swann, and its actually 'as per manufacturers schedule'

Never had a claim issue, always easy to deal with....

And paid for itself over 3 years when the alternator was toasted at toolangi

    Mike,

I rang Swann this morning and they told me that Land Rover's are not on their list? When did you buy your extended warranty?

I have been looking at a company called Elite Warranty. Their plan D costs $1287 for 36 months but has maximum claim amounts - ie.

    Engine - $5,000
    Gearbox/Transmission - $5,000
    Differential - $5,000
    Turbo Charger - $1,500
    Cooling System - $1,300
    Braking System - $1,200
    Electrical System - $1,200

    etc.

Am currently studing the 17 pages of fine print but it looks fairly standard. Policy is through AWN (All States Warranty).

I was offerred it through the dealership...

    No limits either on payouts...

They paid for 3 manifold issues, 1 alternator and a few other silly bits and pieces (broken switch etc)

Just called Swann again - they no longer do Land Rovers - obviously, they have had to pay out too many claims and found it financially unacceptable to issue new policies!

The only other extended warranty I can find is carbroker (Elite Warannty) but their policy hardly seems worth it when they exclude cylinder head gaskets!

Looks like no one offers and extended warranty for Land Rover's that is worth paying for!

    Man, that sucks!

Perhaps you could speak to your current insurer and see if they'll add something to that policy...
