    Diff oil for Rangie

    HI ALL,
    New to this forum looks like an awsome one can't wait to look around.

    its time for a service on my rangie and this time i am doing it myself and i need some help on what diff oils i should use?
    i have never done a service myself on a range rover before so any tips would be greatly apprecated.

    Which year model RR do you have and which transfer case LT230 or Borg Warner? If your vehicle is pre-1989 you have the LT230.

    The BW uses Dexron II or III auto trans fluid

    EP90 for the LT230 transfer case and diffs.

    Remove the plugs with a 1/2" square drive socket set bar or ratchet.

    On refitting, DON'T overtighten the plugs or you risk opening up the holes (they are a tapered plug) and the plug can fall in. I wipe the threads of the plug with gasket goo to stop them weeping. You could try teflon tape instead.
